Learn About Great Science. Connect With Great People. Develop Great Business

The Business of Science Conference 2019

We are delighted to be partnering with Steve Bennett, managing director of Business of Science Limited, celebrating the commercialisation of science  The Commercialisation of Science is the key overriding theme of the Conference. For many years, the UK has been challenged about developing great science, but not then driving commercial exploitation of new innovations and inventions. From the first conference in Manchester in 2016, the Business of Science has sought to encourage debate, discussion and the demonstration of great examples of where science has been developed for commercial and societal benefit to deliver economic impact across the UK. From the development of Advanced Materials to the use of new technologies such as AI and VR to improve the results of pioneering surgery, and through the associated Leadership Awards, the pre-conference Dinner, regular Thought Leadership Dinners and 2019’s new Innovation Awards, the Business of Science continues to be at the forefront of the UK’s drive to deliver on the “Commercialisation of Science”.

The conference will be held at Cloth Hall Court, Leeds on Thursday 16th May 2019.

Primary Careers Conference and Networking Event Friday 29th March  Bradford City FC Banqueting Suite

YABA have teamed up with Bradford Pathways (Bradford Council) part of the wider Industrial Centres of Excellence Partnerships, and with funding support from the Opportunity Area fund, are hosting a “Primary Careers Conference and Network Event to be held Friday 29th March at Bradford City Football Club in the Banqueting Suite. The event is to bring together Primary school heads/leaders, educational providers and businesses. Research into careers learning in primary school has found that it is key to raising aspirations and exposing children to the different and varied jobs that people do. We also want them gain essential life skills whilst at school and be as enterprising as they can be, which ultimately will lead them to a career they will enjoy and can pursue.  Head teachers want to ensure their pupils are ready for modern day living and work. Schools can find it very difficult to engage businesses and employers, time is often a factor. The conference will aid in forging those relationships between business and education, and of course those educational providers that support schools in improving many areas of learning. Businesses will have the opportunity to hear about the research that informs why careers learning is so important and develop relationships with schools.  We are offering businesses the opportunity to showcase what they can offer to schools, be it an inspirational discussion, taking part in careers activities such as classroom chats, interactive sessions, workshops, career carousels, STEM focussed activities, the list is endless, and if you haven’t worked with schools before you will have an opportunity to talk to educators about their needs. It doesn’t matter if you are a sole trader or a multi-national we want your support to inspire the children of Bradford. We have approximately 165 primary schools and most will be attending their first event of this kind.

Please support this event contact sharon@yaba.uk.com for further information
